Conner and his Dad went to Port Townsend for Father's Day weekend and roamed the beach. It was a super-low tide so there was lots of exploring to do. As you can see, most of the time Dad was having a hard time keeping up!

Andy Werth plays the Fremont Fair

My friend and up-and-coming pop star Andy Werth played a big show today at the Fremont Fair. Everybody played at their highest level, the sound-guys did a fantastic job, there were several hundred people there, and the energy was high. I play a minor role.. I play cello on about 4 songs.. but it's been a wonderfully fun experience so far meeting a lot of new people and learning what it's like to be 'backstage' (not as exciting as you might think), getting in on 'musician's privileges', etc. Today the musicians got their very own porta-potty! Watch for Andy's new cd coming out this fall.

We used a bag of multi-colored miniature marshmallows instead of the regular kind and they didn't turn out as well - but we didn't really care.

Lily and Scooter

Here are Lily and Scooter enjoying an after-dinner beverage.
Lily is the grey one on the left. She is easily spooked - she is truly a 'scaredy-cat'. When company comes over Lily hides by the waterheater, trembling with fright. Some people think we don't really have a grey cat because they've never actually seen her. She is quite comical and a real cuddlebug - as long as she's known you for quite some time. Lily's hero is Scooter, and if Scooter is doing something she has to be there doing it right along with him (see picture).
Scooter is the black monstrosity on the right. This picture does not do justice to his girth. Scooter loves company and he enjoys mingling with them. He weighs approximately 20 pounds. When you view him straight on he looks like a pregnant goat. He is very loving and gentle, and he has an extremely loud purr. He often gets annoyed by Lily's persistent hounding but he eventually relents and they are always still friends at the end of the day.

Aeries is our grandaughter, born March 15, 2007. She has the same birthday as her great Grandma Rose. She loves to sit quietly and look at her surroundings, classical music, wearing pretty outfits, and staying overnight at Grandpa Lane and Grandma Sylvia's house.

Numero Uno

I figured it was time to start a blog. Everybody seems to be getting on the blog train and I don't want to be left behind. Actually it seems like a really good way to share pictures, links, and other stuff so I'll start it. I'll try to keep it up to date (which means.... monthly?).

The most wonderful boy in the world

Conner is our nephew. He will be 5 on July 01, 2007. He is big, strong, intelligent and funny. He loves to tell jokes, go to Disneyland with his Mommy and Daddy, play with his cat Sophie, and stay at his Uncle Lane and Aunt Sylvia's house overnight.
