Kennewick and thereabouts

Last week and the week prior I was working in the Tri-cities. Here's a few pictures I snapped while I was there. My earlier post of the lightning storm was taken from there also.

Conner had his first piano recital a couple of weeks ago. Doesn't he look like a little prodigy? We are so proud of him.

Sometimes I set the camera down and let it roll just to see if anything interesting happens. Most of the time nothing does. This time however, Aeries got caught messing with Grandpa. This is probably one of the best performances of modern times. I didn't realize what she had done until later that night when I saw the video.

Conner and Aeries Have Fun

We had both of them overnight this weekend and Saturday we went to the skatedeck. Conner skated for a while, but most of the time he and Aeries played on the inflatable toys. They had a BLAST.

Aeries has a fever

Aeries stayed home from daycare today with a slight fever and just not feeling 100% so we had her for most of the day. Syl watched her all day and then I got to spend the evening hours with her. She got a lot of playtime in but she was worn out... she took a 2.5 hr. nap this afternoon!

Aeries Spends the Weekend

She is growing SO fast. We didn't see her for a two-week stretch and we could really see the growth in her arms in that short span. Maybe that's because she's been eating like a horse.

Harrison, Idaho

This is where I was auditing last evening and all day today. It's about an hour's drive from my motel. Their claim to fame is a 72-mile paved bike trail. Yesterday afternoon I took the long way and made lots of stops and took pictures. This morning I took the shorter route and then after work I took a backroad and kind of drove around aimlessly for a while taking pictures.

Ospreys are everywhere. They build huge nests on top of poles... telephone poles for example. This guy was kind enough to sit still while I zoomed in.

Good thing they tied off! And notice the yellow raincoat hanging over the rail. Weird, huh?

Apparently nobody told Eddie that the only thing more dangerous than a moose is a drunk moose.

Goodnight from Idaho

Bayview, Idaho

This is one of the towns where I am auditing this week. Isn't this a gorgeous spot in the road? This is Lake Pend Orielle (pronounced Ponderey). It is the deepest lake in North America - about 3 miles deep. The Navy tests submarines / sonar here. That's a Navy structure floating out on the water. The big grey building on the right is also a Navy building.
There are lots and lots of houseboats all along the bay. You can see some of them on the lower left.
There is no cell phone service, and whitetails roam the streets at night. Last year they had to shoot a moose that was roaming around town and sticking his head in peoples' windows.

He polished off two bowls of cheerios in no time flat, and shortly after that had a big Costco hotdog. I don't know where he puts it. Maybe that's why he's growing so fast!

Cousin Todd, Stacey, Quinn and Lauryn stopped in for dinner tonight on their way back home to Chelan. Lauren is just a fluffy smiley little bundle. Quinn and Aeries got acquainted and seemed to enjoy each other a lot.
