Bennett and Papa go to the Zoo

One of my favorite things to do over the years has been to take a day off work and go to the zoo with one (or more) of the grandkids. Many of my favorite memories are from days like the day Bennett and I had yesterday!

Here we go!

This big fella was showing the two females who was in charge.
When he started roaring we could hear him from
pretty much anywhere in the zoo.

Bennett's favorite thing to see might be the fish in
Grizzly Bear's habitat. He likes watching them slowly swimming around.

I love the owls. They fascinate me, and getting a good picture
is always a challenge.

As we were leaving a wild owl dive-bombed me! I felt him go by me
with a rush of wind and watched him silently fly off into the thick trees.
Apparently my head looked like a tasty rodent in the twilight.
I'm glad he didn't sink his talons into my scalp!!
