Today Aeries didn't go to daycare so Grandpa got to spend the day with her. Grandpa and Aeries walked downtown Everett and, after stopping at Starbucks and Pave for some goodies, they toured the different sculptures in downtown Everett.
Everywhere Aeries looked she saw fascinating sculpture.
"Gigantic Red Butterfly"
"Salmon Swimming Up a Pole"
"Dancing Children"
To gain a true appreciation of "Dancing Children" you needed to see it from both ends.
"Big Hunk o' Concrete"
"Big Pear" (Everett's answer to New York's Big Apple)
"I Don't Get It" (aka "If Those Flimsy Red Poles Snap I'm a Goner")
"Child With Doggie" and of course right down the block....
"Ode to Doggie" (this one you had to feel to appreciate).
"Ode to Bicycle"
"Huge Yummy Chocolate Donut"
"Egg" (apparently vandals got to this one)
"Somebody's Leftover Car Parts Welded To The Top Of A Large Brown Pole"
After our amazing tour we walked back home and took a 2-hour nap. Getting culture is sure a lot of work!
Man he's one lucky kid. How many times is this now, three? Let's see.... Conner is almost 6 years old, and he's been to Disneyland 3 times, and 6 minus 3 = 3...so.. he's basically spent half of his life at Disneyland. Right? Are we doing the math correctly? We know there's a lot of pictures here, but there's so many great shots we just couldn't stop posting!
We celebrated Grandpa Harold's 93rd birthday and Jenn's ??th birthday last week. Mom made fondue and there was fabulous desserts, and presents, and of course singing...
Conner had fun looking thru the telescope, collecting bugs, and just being all-around handsome.
Jenn's personal-training skills are amazing. She trained one of Conner's captured creatures to do crunches. If I hadn't seen her do it I never would've believed it! Fortunately I had the camera on hand to document it....
Tomorrow is supposed to be a very warm and beautiful day. At last! Syl and I just happen to both have the day off, so we're going to paint the fence out front. Well, first we'll fix it, then we'll paint it. Have a nice weekend!
