Day Trip to the Ice Caves (closed :-( )

Headed out the Mountain Loop Highway to the Ice Caves on a spontaneous sunny Saturday. Turned out the road is still closed so we stopped at a couple beautiful places on the way back, taking pictures and enjoying the cold fresh air. Went 'off the beaten path' a little bit which is something we really like doing. We were looking for a mine and we found some minecart tracks (we think) and we spotted the mine shaft entrance (we also think) underneath an old bridge. We had a nice dinner on the way home to warm our bones. Sometimes spontaneous is the best!
