Fungus Amungus

Amanita muscaria, known as fly agaric, is a distinctive mushroom with a bright red, white-spotted cap and white gills, recognized worldwide. This basidiomycete fungus is part of the Amanita genus, notable for its psychoactive properties due to compounds like muscimol. It is often seen in northern forests and is one of the most recognizable fungi, though consuming it can be dangerous and should not be done.

Trip up North Cascades Highway

Saturday drive up the North Cascades Highway. Spent some time in Newhalem enjoying the colors at the park and Gorge Creek Falls before continuing up to the Diablo Lake Outlook.
